MISSION

The Decatur Park District's Special Recreation Association (SRA) is dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities by providing quality recreational programs. Through advocacy and awareness, we promote a successful leisure lifestyle.

BINGO

Put on your game face! BINGO is held monthly with prizes for winners ranging from shirts to cameras! BINGO night features seven games with drinks and snacks for your enjoyment.

Dances at KC Hall

A night of music, dancing and snacks! Dances are held the first Wednesday of every month from 6 - 8 p.m. at the KC Hall.

Dinner Club

Dine out with your friends! You'll enjoy great food and a great atmosphere at various Decatur area restaurants.

Movie Night Out

Join your friends once a month for a night at the theatre. Popcorn and transportation provided.

Camp I Can

Swim, create arts and crafts and visit the zoo in this camp designed uniquely for special kids with special needs. Fun activities at Nelson Park, Fairview Pool, Scovill Zoo and more! For more information, call Dana Floyd at 429-3472.

Camp F.I.R.E.

Camp FIRE (Fostering, Independent, Recreation, Education) is designed for youth aged 15 - 21 (must be enrolled in High School with an IEP) and is an extension of Camp I Can. Participants will learn Special Olympics sports, take field trips and have a great time!

Special Olympics

Compete in the Special Olympics!  Through the Special Recreation Association, athletes participate in various sports which continue year round.  Upcoming sports include track and field, volleyball, and bowling.  To participate, athletes must have current medical application on file.  For more information, call Dana Floyd at 429-3472.

 

REGISTRATION

Special Recreation activities are included in a monthly calendar. Programs are designed specifically for those with developmental disabilities and are led by qualified, caring, experienced staff. To receive this mailing, please call Dana Floyd at 429-3472. Volunteers are always appreciated!
