About the Devon Lakeshore Amphitheater

The Devon G. Buffett Amphitheater is owned and operated by the Decatur Park District and was made possible by a generous donation from the Howard G. Buffett Foundation. The venue’s name is in honor of Howard G. Buffett’s wife, Devon, and is referred to as the Devon Lakeshore Amphitheater. Construction began in 2018, and the venue opened on May 24, 2019.

The venue sits along the shore of Lake Decatur as part of Lakeshore Landing nestled inside the Historic Nelson Park. With a capacity of over 3,000, the venue offers views of the lake from nearly every seat or viewing area. The Devon Lakeshore Amphitheater’s season usually operates May through September — offering a wide range of entertainment. The goal is to offer something for everyone with a line-up that features music of many genres, comedians, big bands, movie nights, family themed entertainment and more.

When it comes to viewing areas for the events, we have a few options to offer. The Pit area is directly in front of the stage and can vary from a standing room area to an assigned seating area, depending on the event. Our Reserved Seating offers patrons the chance to have an assigned seat for the show. The Terrace level is comprised of artificial turf and sits in the middle of the venue and offers guests the chance to bring their own camp/lawn chair or blanket to sit on as no seating is provided in this area. The Lawn offers the most spacious area to enjoy the show with great views of the stage and Lake Decatur and also allows guests to bring their own camp/lawn chair or blanket to sit on as no seating is provided in the Lawn either.
